After School Care Services in India's top Preschool: Footprints Childcare

To ensure that your child receives outstanding care, Footprints has developed an after-school education program based on the HighScope curriculum that promotes exploration, imagination, and active learning. Ensuring overall social, emotional, and academic development, we prioritise a safe and comfortable atmosphere while offering age-appropriate fun and informative activities. Our after-school and evening programs now have complete accountability for students' homework completion, with an emphasis on reading, writing, and cognitive abilities. This improves our ability to help students with their schoolwork and our relationship with their parents, giving them peace of mind and helping create better family bonds. For a comprehensive after-school program that promotes your child's growth and development, enroll them in Footprints.

HighScope classrooms follow a predictable sequence of events known as the daily routine. This provides a structure within which children can make choices, follow their interests, and develop their abilities in each content area.

Choice Time
CHOICE TIME
  • Giving choices to children always helps in honing their decision-making skills.
  • At this time of the day children are provided with the choice and the apt material to choose from and play with.
  • In this after school care program, children focus on what they can design and how they can utilize their skills to transform a simple teaching aid or a toy into an invention.
  • This is the time of the day when we can observe children creating vacant carton boxes into farms and old clothes into robes.
Small Group Time
SMALL-GROUP TIME
  • To find out the individual strengths and challenges, a small group is a prerequisite for being child-centred.
  • Here, children gather in small groups and interact with the teachers while they are being carefully observed and scaffolded to do the activities.
  • This time of the day provides the child a safe space to meet and express what they hold back due to inhibitions in a larger setting.
  • The after school activities here range from tracing letters, playing number games, solving puzzles etc.
Large Group Times
LARGE-GROUP TIMES
  • Children quickly learn the principles of participating in a team and building communities best in a larger group.
  • Here, children gather in a large group with their fellow mates and teachers to engross in different activities.
  • From taking turns, to taking lead and synchronizing with the team, here children build upon their social skills.
  • Extra-curricular activities for after school range from music, group recitals, dance to story narrations, puppet shows and much more.
Outside Times
OUTSIDE TIME
  • In Footprints after care schedule, children learn best when taken out and physically evolve beyond the walls of the classroom.
  • Given to the weather, children along with the teachers spend around 30 mins every day in the outdoor area.
  • Here, children not only get to observe nature but also the most important lessons of life are learnt here like climate, sun, clouds etc.
  • Children are seen here, engaging in different physical activities along with honing their senses.
Transition Times
TRANSITION TIMES
  • This time of the day helps in designing a scheduled routine for the children. With a consistent daily routine child knows what next is coming up.
  • Transitions are the gaps between other blocks of the day, like arrival to choose time or outdoor to small group time.
  • Whenever workable, children are given the choice on how to make the transition. For example, they may choose how to move across the floor on their way to small-group time.
Eating Times
EATING AND RESTING TIMES
  • Meals and snacks allow children to savour eating healthy food in a supportive social environment.
  • Rest is for quiet, solitary activities.
  • Children can be observed reading, engaging in self play during this time if they choose to not sleep in this time of the day.
